Online event !
1-4 Feb 2022 Grenoble (France)

At a glance !

Topics: all aspects relevant to snow hydrology, including:

  • snow cover processes
  • snow distribution dynamics
  • advances in snow model development and data assimilation
  • operational snowmelt forecasting
  • remote sensing of snow cover
  • climate change effects on snow water resources
  • snow vegetation interactions
  • snow ecohydrology

Format: the meeting will be online. We greatly value networking via informal discussions and the exchange of ideas throughout the conference. Therefore, we have decided to host the conference in a virtual convention center using gather town. More information is available here.

Programme: days #1 to #3 will feature dedicated oral and poster sessions related to the above topics, with no concurrent sessions. The full programme is available here.

Information for presenters: oral presentations will be given live on stage, presenters will share their screen. Oral presentations should not exceed 11 minutes to allow 4 minutes for questions. Posters have to be pitched in advance, so we ask poster presenters to upload their files by Jan-30 the very latest. Format requirements and upload information are available under logistsics on the first page of the program.

Organizers: SnowHydro2022 is jointly organized by the International Commission on Snow and Ice Hydrology (ICSIH) of the International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS), and the local research institutes in Grenoble involved with snow hydrology, which are the Centre d’Etudes de la Neige (CEN), the Institut des Géosciences de l’Environnement (IGE), and the Institut National de Recherche pour l’Agriculture, l’alimentation et l’Environnement (INRAE).

Adjoint event: the annual meeting of the local glacier-snow-permafrost section of the French Hydrotechnics Society (SHF) will be held as part of SnowHydro2022, with specific permafrost and glacier topics integrated into the program on day #3 and #4 (please see separate announcement by SHF).

On the agenda: Links to the virtual conference center will be sent on Jan-30. Don't miss our Virtual Icebreaker Event on Monday, Jan-31! And don't hesitate to contact us for more information.
